OEE Software in Chile: 5 Options Compared

Excel spreadsheet, TEEPTRAK, Fabrico, Siemens Insights Hub or iGromi: how each one captures the data, where it runs, what it publishes and when each option makes sense in a Chilean plant.

OEE Software in Chile: 5 Options Compared

There is no single OEE software that is best for every plant: it depends on how you are going to capture the data. If you log stops on paper today, a well-built Excel spreadsheet is the first step and costs nothing. If you want the data automatically, the deciding question is where it comes from: sensors the vendor installs, the machine's PLC, or a camera that already exists.

We compare five options that come up when a Chilean plant looks for OEE software. Each vendor's information was checked on its official website on October 9, 2026. None of them publishes prices: they all quote.

What options are there to measure OEE in Chile? #

OptionHow it gets the dataWhere it runsPublished price
Excel spreadsheetThe operator or supervisor logs itOn your computerFree
TEEPTRAK (France)Its own sensors, or the PLC via OPC UA, Modbus, PROFINET and others; the operator marks the stop reasonNot specifiedNo; 60-day pilot
FabricoDevices installed by the vendorCloudNo; plans per user or per plant
Siemens Insights Hub OEENot specified on its product pageNot specifiedNo
iGromiThe camera the line already has and the PLC, read on the same unitA unit inside the plantNo; quoted per plant

When is an Excel spreadsheet enough? #

When you do not yet know how much you are losing or where. A spreadsheet with the availability, performance and quality formulas, filled in per shift, gives you your first OEE figure and shows which of the three factors weighs most. Its limit is that it depends on whoever logs the data: micro-stops of a few minutes almost never get recorded, and OEE on paper usually comes out higher than the real one.

You can start with our OEE Excel template, which includes a worked example.

What does TEEPTRAK offer? #

TEEPTRAK is a French company, based in Paris, focused on real-time OEE monitoring. It installs its own sensors or reads the machine through industrial protocols (OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus, PROFINET, Ethernet/IP, Profibus or dry contact), and the operator records the reason for each stop on a screen. It exports to SAP, Oracle and Power BI.

It does not publish prices. Instead of a free trial it offers a 60-day pilot on one line: if they do not find at least 10 % in losses, you do not pay. It makes sense if you want a tool dedicated only to OEE and your machines have a PLC or can take a sensor.

What does Fabrico offer? #

Fabrico presents itself as a cloud MES and OEE platform with maintenance management included. It has offices in Europe and Chicago. According to its website, with hardware, installing the devices and connecting the machines takes about a month. Its plans (Light, Full and Enterprise) are charged per user or per plant and are quoted after a demo.

It makes sense if you want OEE and maintenance in the same tool and you are fine with the data living in the cloud.

What does Siemens offer? #

Insights Hub OEE, formerly MindSphere, calculates availability, performance and quality, plus MTTR and MTBF, with a stop-reason tree and configurable formulas. Its product page does not detail how the data is captured and does not publish prices.

It makes sense in plants that already work with Siemens automation and want everything inside that ecosystem.

What does iGromi do differently? #

iGromi measures production with what the plant already has. A unit inside the plant reads the line camera to count units and the PLC to know when the machine is stopped, without installing new cameras or sensors when the existing ones will do. The data is processed right there and does not depend on the internet to keep measuring. It is currently in production in Chilean food plants.

What it does not do: it does not replace a full traceability MES, and the quality factor of OEE needs someone or something to record the rejects. It makes sense if the problem is that the count does not add up, or if the line already has cameras and a PLC but nobody brings that data together.

How to choose #

  • Never measured OEE? Start with the spreadsheet for a month. You will know which factor weighs most before you spend anything.
  • Do your machines have an accessible PLC? Any automatic option can read it; ask which protocols it supports.
  • Do you have cameras over the line? Ask whether the vendor can use them or requires installing its own sensors.
  • Can the data leave the plant? If not, rule out anything that only runs in the cloud.
  • Who is going to look at the data? The best software is useless if nobody reviews the stops at the end of the shift.
  • Is what you really need maintenance management, not OEE measurement? That is a CMMS: compare the Fracttal alternatives and Tractian.

Frequently asked questions #

How much does OEE software cost in Chile?

None of the vendors reviewed publishes prices; they all quote based on the number of lines, machines or users. The only option with a known price is the Excel spreadsheet, which is free.

What is a good OEE?

85 % is often cited as world class, and many plants measuring it for the first time are well below that. What matters is the trend on your own line and which of the three factors is dragging it down. The step-by-step calculation is in the OEE guide.

Can you measure OEE without installing sensors?

Yes, in two ways: logging it by hand in a spreadsheet, or reading data the plant already generates, such as the machine's PLC or a camera over the line.
