Fracttal and Tractian Alternatives: Which One Fits Your Plant

Fracttal manages maintenance and Tractian monitors machine condition. What each one does, when it makes sense, and what to use if what doesn't add up is production.

Fracttal and Tractian Alternatives: Which One Fits Your Plant

If you are looking for an alternative to Fracttal or Tractian, first decide which problem you need to solve: managing maintenance or monitoring machine condition. Fracttal is mainly maintenance management software (CMMS). Tractian starts from its own vibration sensors and adds a CMMS. If what you are missing is knowing how much the line produces and why it stops, neither is built for that.

Each vendor's details were checked on their official websites on October 9, 2026. Neither publishes prices.

When does Fracttal make sense? #

When the problem is organizing maintenance: preventive plans, work orders, spare parts and history per asset. It works the same for a plant, a vehicle fleet or a building, and its app keeps working offline in the field. If you still run maintenance on paper, the CMMS evaluation matrix helps you compare vendors against your own criteria.

When does Tractian make sense? #

When the problem is rotating equipment (motors, pumps, gearboxes) failing without warning. Its sensors measure vibration and temperature and alert before the failure, and the CMMS records what was done. The sensors connect over cellular, so they do not depend on the plant network.

What if the problem is not maintenance? #

Many plants search for a "Fracttal alternative" when what actually doesn't add up is production: the shift count doesn't match the ERP, or the line stops and nobody knows for how long or why. A CMMS does not solve that.

That is what iGromi does. A device inside the plant reads the camera the line already has to count units, and the PLC to know when the machine is stopped. The data is processed right there, without depending on the internet. It is in production today in Chilean food plants. It does not replace a CMMS: if you need to manage work orders, you can use it alongside Fracttal or Tractian.

How is Fracttal One different from other CMMS? #

Almost every CMMS does the same basics: preventive plans, work orders, spare parts and history per asset. What changes is the origin, the type of customer it was built for and how it integrates. These are the ones most often compared with Fracttal One:

CMMSOriginWhat sets it apart
Fracttal OneChile (now billed from Spain)Cloud with an offline app; plants, fleets and buildings
SGMANBrazilBuilt for Latin America; announces a ChatGPT integration
MainsimItaly (Genoa)Strong in the Italian market; cloud or on-premises
FacilioIndia, headquartered in New YorkAimed at buildings and facilities rather than plants
IBM MaximoUnited StatesEnterprise asset management (EAM) built for large companies

None publishes a comparable price: all quote by assets or users. To compare properly, use the same criteria with all of them.

How to choose? #

  • Are work orders lost or still on paper? You need a CMMS, such as Fracttal.
  • Do motors fail without warning? You need condition monitoring, such as Tractian.
  • You don't know how much the line produced or why it stopped? You need to measure production and downtime; see the OEE guide.
  • Can your data leave the plant? Ask each vendor where it is stored.

Frequently asked questions #

Is Fracttal Chilean?

Yes. It was founded in Santiago and now also operates in Europe and other Latin American countries; the legal entity on its website is Fracttal Tech S.L., registered in Spain.

How much do Fracttal and Tractian cost?

Neither publishes prices on its website. Both quote based on the number of assets, users or sensors.

Can I use Tractian without switching CMMS?

Tractian comes with its own CMMS. If you already use another one, ask about integration with your current system or ERP before deciding.
