Industrial HMI with AI: your machine, with history and a source

Your HMI keeps giving the commands. iGromi reads the same PLC read-only and adds what the screen does not keep: the machine’s history, its past failures and an AI that answers citing where each fact came from.

How it looks today

The HMI sees the now. Yesterday’s questions go unanswered.

Has this happened before?

the panel does not know

Who fixed it, and how?

the panel does not know

How has vibration trended this month?

the panel does not know

The screen shows the alarm and lets you run the machine. What happened in July, who fixed it and how vibration was trending lives in a spreadsheet, a notebook or Pedro’s memory.

How it works

Same PLC, two paths: control does not change and the data is added

The Edge serves a panel inside the plant network with that machine’s variables and their trend. Grey as the base and color only for what goes off normal: M-204 vibration shows up before it becomes an alarm.

In iGromi OS

Ask the machine and the AI tells you where it got the answer

Carla asks whether the M-204 failure has happened before. The answer brings the date, who fixed it and the source: the Jul 14 work order and the vibration sensor. She decides; the order goes to Luis.

Conveyor motor M-204 vibrating, bearing at 78 °C. I stopped it.

@igromi has this happened before? How was it fixed?
✦ iGromi
Yes, twice. On Jul 14 it was the bearing: Pedro replaced it and realigned the coupling in 40 min.

Luis, check the bearing like in July.

Cameras too

The machine is not just the PLC: the cameras you already have count

The Edge runs vision models on the installed cameras and the video is processed in the plant. What it counts appears next to the PLC variables, on the panel and in the app.

FAQ

HMI with AI FAQ

Does iGromi replace my HMI?
No. Your HMI stays the screen the operator uses to command the machine. iGromi reads the same PLC read-only and adds what the HMI does not keep: the history, the context of each failure and answers with their source.
Can I command the machine from the app?
No. The Edge does not write to the PLC. If the AI proposes an action on a machine, a person decides it and carries it out from the control station, as today.
Do I need to change the PLC program?
No. The Edge reads the PLC network through an interface that only reads, and it does not require changing the program or opening inbound ports toward control.
How does the AI know what it answers?
It answers with what the plant has already recorded: sensor readings, previous work orders and procedures. Every answer states where it came from, for example the July 14 work order and the motor vibration sensor.
What is the operator panel?
A screen next to the line, served by the Edge inside the plant network, with that machine’s variables. It is built with Node-RED and it is for watching: commands stay on the HMI.
What happens if the internet goes down?
The Edge keeps measuring and stores in the plant. When the connection is back, it sends what is pending in order and the history has no gaps.
Which plan includes it?
The app is free and in early access. Reading the PLC, sensors and cameras requires the Edge in the plant, which is the Enterprise plan.
