iGromi OS and our Edge nodes are vendor-agnostic. We natively support more than 40 industrial protocols at the physical and network layers.
Ethernet-based protocols (TCP/IP)
- OPC-UA: (client and server). Supports X509 certificates and Basic256Sha256 encryption.
- Modbus TCP: Polling of Coils, Discrete Inputs, Input Registers and Holding Registers.
- S7 Communication: S7-300, S7-400, S7-1200 and S7-1500 (requires disabling PUT/GET protection in TIA Portal).
- EtherNet/IP: Rockwell Automation / Allen-Bradley (MicroLogix, ControlLogix).
- FINS/TCP: Omron.
- MTConnect: For CNC machines.
Serial protocols (RS-485 / RS-232)
- Modbus RTU
- DF1: Omron legacy.
- Custom ASCII: Lets you inject Python scripts at the edge to parse industrial scales or inkjet printers (Domino, Videojet).
IT and cloud protocols
- MQTT / Sparkplug B: iGromi OS's native internal communication protocol.
- REST API: Webhooks for integrations with SAP, Oracle or Microsoft Dynamics.
- GraphQL: For bulk extraction of historical data into Business Intelligence tools.
