Introduction
To measure a machine's availability and performance (OEE) automatically, iGromi OS needs to count production cycles. This is done by wiring standard physical sensors (photoelectric, inductive, capacitive or limit switches) directly to the digital ports of the iGromi Bridge.
Prerequisites
- Industrial sensor (24V DC, PNP or NPN).
- Signal cable (shielded is preferable).
- Terminal screwdriver.
- Multimeter.
Step 1: Identify the sensor
Check your sensor's wiring diagram. The usual standard (IEC 60947-5-2) is:
- Brown: +24V DC
- Blue: 0V (GND)
- Black/White: Output signal
Step 2: Wiring to the iGromi Bridge
The iGromi Bridge has opto-isolated inputs designed to withstand industrial noise.
- Connect the Brown wire to the 24V supply terminal in your cabinet.
- Connect the Blue wire to the neutral/0V bar in your cabinet.
- Connect the signal wire (Black/White) to terminal
IN-01on the iGromi Bridge.
⚠️ Safety warning: Make sure the cabinet is de-energized before handling the terminal blocks.
Step 3: Configuration in iGromi OS
Once powered, browse to the Bridge's local IP (192.168.1.100 by default).
- Go to the Edge Devices tab.
- Select port
IN-01. - Set the debounce filter to
50ms(to avoid false counts caused by mechanical vibration). - Map the variable to the production tag of the corresponding machine.
Done. The machine will start pushing real-time production data into the Unified Namespace.
